What we've been up to
Here’s a few things from the past few years.
For clients in Aotearoa New Zealand the TOMM® platform is hosted in Aotearoa New Zealand and no data leaves our shores ensuring safety and protection of data sovereignty.

This year marks the start of TOMM®’s groundbreaking longitudinal and latitudinal study. With our comprehensive wellbeing measurement tools, TOMM® now assesses health and wellbeing from conception to end of life, capturing insights for whānau at any moment in time across all life stages. By evidencing strengths, challenges, and wellbeing changes over time, TOMM® empowers services to target interventions where they are most effective.

Through TOMM®’s in-depth reporting, service providers can now measure healing from intergenerational trauma, reinforcing our mission to support organisations driving positive, measurable change.

Achieving accreditation from Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand strengthened TOMM®’s position as a leader in outcomes measurement, reflecting the reliability and impact of our tools in the health and wellbeing sectors.

TOMM® is the trusted tool used in collaboration with evaluation company Tiria, to develop and track the outcomes and impacts of the Enriched Learning Curriculum (ELC) pilot. As part of this partnership, TOMM®:

  • Developed a custom booking system for ELC providers to monitor school engagement, ākonga participation, and learning hours.

  • Designed TellTOMM® survey tools to collect feedback from schools, providing valuable insights into the effectiveness of the ELC pilot.

TOMM® completed the Well Child Tamariki Ora (WCTO) tool suite, supporting clinical and social teams in delivering WCTO services. When integrated with TOMM®’s core wellbeing tools, TOMM® reporting provides comprehensive analytics on both strengths and challenges, guiding service improvements and better outcomes for vulnerable communities.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) appointed TOMM® as the official tool for measuring outcomes in the Youth Mental Health Pilot, ensuring consistent, data-driven insights into youth wellbeing.

Following on from providing the digital tools for the safe capture and delivery of responses from 14,000 young people aged 12–18 across Aotearoa New Zealand, TOMM® was selected to surface national data insights for the What About Me (WAM) survey, the largest youth wellbeing survey of a generation. Our advanced analytics tools provided:

  • Comparative data sheets for national trends.

  • Intuitive, user-friendly reporting for participating schools.

  • Anonymised wellbeing snapshots, assisting schools in understanding and responding to the challenges faced by young people.

With the successful completion of the Middlemore Hospital Start Well pilot, TOMM® continues to develop and enhance reporting tools, tracking maternal, child, and all of whānau wellbeing.

Team TOMM® designed and delivered user friendly intuitive reporting tools for participating schools results to access their results. Evidencing an anonymised snap shot… of wellbeing for participating schools in an easy to access and understandable format is assisting schools to understand and respond to challenges faced by young people.

Having worked with Oranga Tamariki since TOMM®’s inception, we achieved accreditation in 2021, ensuring the security and integrity of:

  • Aggregated, anonymised, and client-level reporting.

  • The TOMM® Referral Portal, safely transferring client data between organisations while maintaining a comprehensive shared-care history.

In partnership with Tuatoko Mai Sexual Harm Support, TOMM® was the trusted tool supporting the Royal Commission Inquiry into Historical Abuse in State Care and Faith-Based Institutions by:

  • Managing and securely transferring survivor stories from the most appropriate support organisations.

  • Capturing notes, timesheets, and invoicing seamlessly, ensuring survivors received timely and effective support.

TOMM® developed specialised tools for capturing Well Child Tamariki Ora (WCTO) data alongside holistic wellbeing measurements for mothers and primary caregivers. This led to:

  • The expansion of TOMM®’s capabilities to track wellbeing across multiple generations.

  • A solid foundation for longitudinal studies, deepening our understanding of multifactorial life influences.

TOMM® collaborated with Middlemore Hospital’s Start Well team to design and develop tools for capturing WCTO measurements, evidencing pilot results in 2021. We are proud to have contributed to the success of this programme, making a measurable impact on whānau wellbeing.

In 2021 we were appointed by Tautaoko Mai (NGO) to provide the necessary tools to enable the management of this ongoing process. Survivor details are safely transferred to the organisation best qualified and most suitably geographically located to support each survivor on their journey to having their stay heard. This incudes securely recording notes, time sheets and seamless invoicing functionality.

Developing a unique set of tools for the capture of WCTO (Well Child Tamariki Ora) and presenting this alongside holistic wellbeing measurements for the mother or primary caregiver meant in 2022 we extended TOMM®’s capabilities to being able to track wellbeing over multiple generations over time. This has laid a solid foundation for longitudinal study and better understanding of multifactorial life influences.

This project is the result of Measuring Outcomes Limited partnering with respected research company Malatest International Limited to deliver this all of government youth health and wellbeing Survey. Our role has been to provide tools for the safe capture and delivery of responses of participants. Malatest International used the digital tools provided to survey responses from from approx 14,000 young people aged 12 – 18yrs from around Aotearoa New Zealand.

During 2018 TOMM® was used to capture and deliver data for the purposes of the NEET’s trail measuring the wellbeing of young people Not Engaged in Education or Training (NEET’s).

In 2018 TOMM® tool was accredited by MSD.
